Laurel and I have been housesitting together these last few weeks. One day, when we were sitting around looking for something to do, we had a terrific conversation about the depressing status of a lot of Christians today who fall into the "lukewarm" trap. There are so many things to say about this issue (check out the "decapolis network" link on the side for some), but Laurel typed up a whole lot of it, and will hopefully post that soon. (Last I knew she was still working on it.)

I've decided to finish reading through the Bible as quickly as I can, and finally get to those books I haven't read (mostly some of the OT prophets and... the dreaded Numbers), while at the same time going through the NT again. Read Titus, which inspired some of the talk about lukewarm Christians, and enjoyed that very much. Read it if you have the time; it's not a very long book, and is chock full of goodness. :D (as is the rest of the Bible, you could say!)

I've been almost palpably hungry for the Word lately. It's really weird, but God is tying these things together for me as I go. Through 1 Kings with Solomon building the temple, and then through Ezekiel at the same time talking about a different temple. Both parts would be really (and kinda are) boring, except that I'm reading through them at the same time and that makes it much more interesting for some reason. yeah, I'm weird.
Also trying to memorize Matthew 5:3-12. Reading through that is so cool.
"Blessed are the poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heat, the peacemakers, those who are persecuted for righteousness sake...."
None of these are qualities that the world would really favor, or that you'd jump up and be proud of, "I am so mournful!!!", and yet these are the things that God blesses. He desires a these qualities in us and it's just been a challenge to me I guess. Am I seeking after theses qualities in my own life? Not in a way that like "I want to be MEEK!!!", but a sincere desire to exemplify in my life the qualities that please God and are a blesing to Him? I'm rambling now, so I'll stop.
