"For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you shjould abstain from sexual immorality; that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God; that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified. For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness." --1 Thessalonians 4:3-7

Note this is not saying "abstain from sex," but rather, abstain from sexual immorality. God is not saying sex is bad - duh, He created it - just that He doesn't want us to abuse it and use it for our own selfish lusts.

"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." --Galatians 6:9

This has been kind of a "theme verse" for Thom and I recently..

"But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully." --2 Corinthians 9:6

"Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!" --2 Corinthians 9:15

"For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise." --2 Corinthians 10:12

Today I was shown a list of supposed "contradictions" in the Bible, most of which were attempts to claim dissimilar numbers between armies and etc. listed in Chronicles and Samuel... which record two completely different periods of time. It's just another example of people believing what they're told without going to check it out for themselves first. If they had simply checked out the references, they would have seen the difference in time and known there was no "contradiction" at all. Most of the supposed "contradictions" revolve around similar ideas.

"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ... for where I am weak, then I am strong." --2 Corinthians 12:9, 10b
